School Committee
Want to help?
Volunteer - Contact Shamrock Gardens Communities in Schools site coordinator,
Melissa Vernon at 980-343-6440 to learn more about becoming a Reading Buddy, Tutor, Lunch Buddy/Mentor, Classroom Volunteer, Special Event Coordinator, or Sponsor.
Donate supplies for back-to-school - or anytime for that matter. Our Communities in Schools site coordinator at SGE indicates the following are always needed: wide-ruled paper, pencils, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks, rulers, composition (bound) notebooks, highlighters, folders with pockets, scissors. Gently used books and dictionaries are welcomed as well.
Make a financial donation - either drop it off at the school office or send a check to us and we’ll get it to the right person at SGE.

Save
Box Tops 4 Education - look for this logo on many of the boxed goods you buy at the grocery store. The school can turn these in for money to help purchase things which their budget doesn’t cover. A complete list of products can be found at
www.boxtops4education.com. Bring box tops to any CCHNA meeting and we’ll turn them in for you.
Join Harris Teeter’s
Together In Education program, a fund raising program for schools in our communities (public or private - preschool through 12th grade), and link your
Harris Teeter VIC card to up to 5 designated schools.
When customers purchase select Harris Teeter Brand products using their VIC card, Harris Teeter contributes a

percentage of those purchase dollars to the schools of their choice. Schools use the money as they see fit on anything from basic supplies to band equipment or computers.
Link your VIC card to multiple schools (up to 5), and Harris Teeter will evenly distribute funds to the linked schools. Your school of your choice is linked to your VIC card until May 31, but VIC cards must be re-linked to your selected schools at the beginning of each school year (after August 1). Look for special promotions where you can earn even more money for your school.
